Patricia Slaughter

Patricia Slaughter, better known to her friends and the field coordinators overseas as “Patti” is the past Chairman of Christian Child Care, Inc. and Christian Child Care International. For more than 9 years Patti was instrumental in coordinating humanitarian relief efforts to developing countries overseas, founding and spearheading the special USA project known as The Bernie House, a transitional home for families who are victims of domestic violence and personally playing, along with many of the CCC Board Members, a major role in hand-delivering supplies and aid at Ground Zero in New York City after the tragic 9/11 attack.

Patti, as past Chair, was also responsible in helping to:

  • Rebuild the Clinic and Educational Center in Honduras after Hurricane Mitch
  • Develop an educational facility for girls in Nigeria
  • Plan the St. Kizitos Clinic Rural Maternity and Health Care Clinic, in Akanga , Nigeria .
  • Set up evaluation programs to assure donors' contributions to projects were warranted and used well. Patti and Board members personally traveled overseas to the locations where aid was needed to inspect that the funds provided were used on the project they were given for.
  • Fund the repair of a generator and pipeline in Kenya that brought clean water to over 90,000 villagers and to a clinic that would have otherwise had to shut down.
  • Rush emergency food and medical supplies to one of the few Rehabilitation Centers in Liberia – the only Center within a 100 mile radius.

Locally Patti helps with a community Walk-a-thon which helps multiple charities including The Bernie House, coordinates an annual Golf Tournament and holds several events each year to raise money for projects she cares about and The Bernie House.

As if all this weren't enough, Patti also volunteers what's left of her spare time to Damascus Help, St. Paul's Building Committee and her youngest daughter's Cheerleading Team.

She is a member of the Gaithersburg Chamber of Commerce and the Montgomery Country Club in Laytonsville , MD.

Patti has an Associated of Arts degree in Business from The Catherine Gibbs School and is currently working on a degree in Philanthropy at Montgomery College .

Patti is married to Dean Slaughter who is President and owner of Dean Builders. The couple reside in Montgomery County with their two daughters.

Edge International feels very fortunate that Mrs. Slaughter agreed to serve on its Board.
